He and has traced his lineage to Pvt. Jessie Maxcy of Virginia, Pvt. Christopher Trinkle of Virginia, Otto Rudolph Crescelius of Pennsylvania, Pvt. Pvt. James Gaines of Virginia, Levin Savage of North Carolina, John Galloway of Virginia, and name sake patriot Pvt. William Honnoll. of Maryland . Honnoll is the third cousin five times removed from President Zachary Taylor and fourth cousin, six times removed from President James Madison. They have a common grandfather Col. James Taylor of Orange County, Virginia. He is the first cousin of United State Senator William King Sebastain who lived in Helena. Sebastian served as U.S. Senator until the outbreak of the “War Between the States”. He was a senator for over thirteen years and Sebastian County, Arkansas was named in his honor.

Danny has served been member of the Sons of the American Revolution since August 6, 1990. He has served at the Crowleys Ridge Chapter as Secretary – 1992 and President – 1993-94. In the Arkansas State Society he has held the offices of Vice President in 1995-96 and as President 1996-97. Honnoll lead the Arkansas SAR Society as Color Guard Commander in the years 1995-present.
He Presented Colors (Arkansas Flag) at National Reunion 1996 San Antonio, Texas (1st from Arkansas to do this)
National SAR Achivements are: The Harold L. Putnam Award – 1998; Certificate (Orations Contest National Winner Sponsor), Liberty Medal - 1997 & 2007 and Distinguished Service Certificate 1997.
He has earned the following state honors; Heroism Medal – 2004s, Arkansas Color Guard Award & Medal – 2003s, Outstanding Citizenship Award - 1999 Certificate, Patriot Award & Medal - 1997
